Treve Ring, Gismondi on Wine - 90points. "Sourced from 3 Cowichan Valley vineyards (Saison, Unsworth, and Zanatta), this was destemmed, whole berry, with minimal punchdowns, and fermentation in stainless. Post-ferment this is pressed off into barriques, primarily older. Shaped by the Wine Islands' tart marine acidity, this lighter (12.3%), tighter pinot streams fresh raspberries, rasped pink peppercorn along a sleek frame, housed with long, lithe tannins to a saline finish. Pretty smart, and ready for drinking now, with raw salmon or mushroom canapés."

Tasting Notes
Bright cherry, violet, and baking spices on the nose give way to a palate full of wild berries and earthy, forest floor notes.
Vineyard Notes
The Pinot Noir for our 2021 vintage comes from Saison Vineyard, Unsworth Vineyard and Zanatta Vineyard.
Production Notes
The fruit is destemmed whilst leaving the berries intact. Maceration occurs largely by pumping over the tanks, but with a few punchdowns if needed. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is pressed to barriques of varying age with very little new oak in the program.
Food Pairing Notes
Beautiful on its own or paired with salmon, duck, pork, and mushroom dishes. Unsworth Pinot Noir also proves perfect with Alpindon, an alpine style cheese, from Kootenay Alpine Cheeses.
