2021 Pinot Noir - Saison Vineyard
Pinot Noir is very close to our hearts at Unsworth Vineyards. When our blending team is crafting the 2021 Pinot Noir, we selected a few highlight barrels which show the nuance, spice, length and supple tannins which we come to expect from this standout vineyard.

Tasting Notes
There is a depth and intensity to this wine while still being light and bright on the palate. Dark cherries and bramble fill the nose and mid palate leading to a long and silky finish. This wine drinks beautifully upon release but will age gracefully for 5-8 years.
Vineyard Notes
With southern exposure and a free draining soil type we love the breadth and ripeness of flavours achieved from Saison Vineyard fruit.
Winemaker Notes
Our 2021 Saison Vineyard Pinot Noir is a blend of 3 clones we work with. The blend is 50% 828, 25% 667, and 25% 777. Selected from barrels that exemplify a glimpse into the future of what Pinot Noir can display from the Cowichan Valley.
Food Pairing Notes
A fall release encourages pairing this wine with wild foraged Chanterelle mushrooms! Sautéed with shallots, garlic and finished with brandy and served over grilled toast. The structure of our Saison Vineyard Pinot Noir lends itself to heartier dishes like beef stew and braised lamb shanks.
